PiecestoFit Maternal Mental Health and Family Preservation Prevention Services

Mothers and Babies (MB) Prevention Services, an evidence-based, community-based intervention developed by Northwestern University to help pregnant individuals and new parents manage stress, strengthen emotional well-being, and prevent postpartum depression.

The program is designed to support families experiencing circumstances that may increase vulnerability to maternal depression, parenting stress, social isolation, and family instability.

Through individualized home-based sessions, structured psychoeducation, and connections to community resources, PiecestoFit seeks to strengthen parental protective factors and promote healthy parent-child relationships.

Our approach recognizes that supporting parental mental health is an important component of supporting child safety, healthy development, and family stability.

By integrating Mothers and Babies into a broader prevention service model, PiecestoFit aims to help families address challenges early, build resilience, and reduce circumstances that may contribute to child welfare involvement or unnecessary out-of-home placements.
